Wellington Vineyards is a 7,000 case winery located on a 24 acre vineyard purchased by John and Peter Wellington in 1986. The vines range from seven to 119 years old, and are farmed sustainably: never using any insecticides or synthetic fungicides. Solar cells generate 100% of the winery's electricity. Grapes are also purchased from about 15 unique, small Sonoma County vineyards. In addition to award winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel, the winery is well known for its less common wines: Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache, Alicante Bouchet, and three Ports-vintage, tawny and white.
