There is no lack of things to do in Sonoma Valley this summer!
Did you know that March is barrel month in Sonoma County? That's right... you will find more opportunities to barrel taste in March than just about any month of the year. Why? Well, it may be because wineries are so active in their cellars in March. They are finished with harvest, possibly bottling wines, racking wines and blending wines.
This March we are celebrating Sonoma Valley with our 2016 Savor Sonoma Valley. It's a spectacular time to visit wine country - not just for the barrels - but because the mustards and wildflowers will be in full bloom. It's gorgeous in the vineyards so don't forget your cameras!
Savor Sonoma Valley is our way of showcasing the best that our small but mighty stretch of wine country has to offer. Winemakers thieve wines from barrel, local chefs prepare small bites paired thoughtfully with wines (not easy if it's a barrel wine), and the temperature and generally just perfect.
Something else we are incredibly proud of is our partnership with Kenwood Education Foundation. This amazing organization is raising critical funds to support important programs at our local school. You can find them at Savor proudly selling "winemaker" signed event posters. That's right - winemaker signed. Each and every winemaker that participates in Savor signs these posters and KEF sells them to raise money. They are collectible! So start collecting this March!
January is one of the best times to go wine tasting. The crowds have subsided, the cellars are full, the vines are sleeping, the tasting room staff are eager to welcome visitors. With so many reasons to journey to wine country, what are you waiting for?
One of the best options for tasting wine is our Wine Trail Pass. Very few appellations offer a pass like this. For one price and one ticket - you have access to 16 wineries. The pass is good for a special selection of wines at each winery AND they even offer a 10% discount on a wine or two just for dropping by.
We offer two ticket options - a one-day pass, and a two-day pass. The two-day pass is pretty great because you can select two non-consecutive days.
