• February 04, 2012 - December 30, 2012 Walkabout with the Winemaker! Loxton Cellars Time: Sat. Feb. 4th at 10:30 AM Every Saturday and Sunday Cost: Price $15/person, $5 for wine club members Location: Loxton Cellars 11466 Dunbar Road, Glen Ellen, CA 95442 Details: Vineyard walkabout with the Winemaker followed by an exclusive reserve tasting every Saturday & Sunday from 10:30-12:00 (Starting February 4th) Join Chris Loxton for a behind the scenes look at what we are doing in the vineyard and what is happening at the winery. Discover how we utilize different farming methods to influence the wines being made. Also discover how different soils in the vineyard influence the type of wines being made. The tour will conclude with a private sit down tasting of wines made from the different blocks to illustrate what we have seen in the vineyard. Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for warm (or wet) weather. The walkabout is limited to 12 people per tour, will take about 90 minutes and must be reserved in advance. Location: Deerfield Ranch Winery Cave Details: Souper Bowl is a local fund raiser hosted by Deerfield Ranch Winery and organized by the winery's resident artist, Fred Parker,to: * support the Kenwood School Ceramics program * honor three Sonoma County ceramic artists: Nicole Hummer, Beverly Prevost and Cynthia Hipkiss. * benefit the restoration of the Kenwood Marsh * protect the endangered Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom plant A dinner buffet of five different hearty soups, created by our guest chefs, Robert Rex, John Young, Scott Grove, and Bob Austin, will be served in bowls made and donated by our ceramic artists.
